Robot Palletizer

Robotic Palletizer for Automated End-of-Line Packaging

HYWAY Robotic Palletizer Systems are designed to automate the palletizing of cartons, cases, bags and other packaged products at the end of production and packaging lines.

By combining an industrial robotic arm with product conveyors, pallet handling and application-specific tooling, HYWAY develops palletizing systems that can automatically pick products and arrange them into defined pallet patterns.

The system can be configured for different product dimensions, weights, pallet sizes, stacking patterns and production rates, making it suitable for food, FMCG, dairy, beverages, pharmaceuticals, logistics and general manufacturing applications.

Think Vertical. Move Smart.

Key Features

  • Automated Palletizing – Automatic stacking of cartons, cases, bags and compatible products.

  • Flexible Product Handling – Robotic tooling can be selected according to product type, dimensions and weight.

  • Multiple Pallet Patterns – Pallet layouts can be programmed according to the required stacking pattern.

  • Multiple Product SKUs – Suitable configurations can handle different products and pallet patterns.

  • Automatic Pallet Handling – Empty pallet feeding and completed pallet discharge can be integrated.

  • Conveyor Integration – Interfaces with existing or new production and packaging conveyors.

  • Space-Efficient Automation – Robotic palletizing can be designed around the available production-floor layout.

  • Safety Integration – Safety fencing, interlocks, scanners and other applicable safety systems can be incorporated.

  • PLC-Based System Control – Coordinates the robot, conveyors, pallet handling and upstream equipment.

  • Complete End-of-Line Solution – Can be integrated with wrapping, conveying, pallet handling and dispatch systems.

How Does a Robotic Palletizer Work?

Products arriving from the production or packaging line are transferred to the palletizing area through an infeed conveyor.

The robotic palletizer identifies or receives the product position and uses a suitable end-of-arm tool to pick the product.

The robot then places the product at the programmed position on the pallet according to the selected stacking pattern.

A typical automated sequence is:

01
Product Infeed
02
Product Accumulation
03
Robotic Pick
04
Pallet Pattern Formation
05
Pallet Stacking
06
Pallet Discharge

Empty pallets can be automatically supplied to the palletizing station, while completed pallets can be transferred to stretch wrapping, storage or dispatch.

Robot Palletizer Applications

Food & FMCG

For automated palletizing of packaged food, FMCG products and secondary packaging.

Typical applications:
  • Cartons
  • Cases
  • Boxes
  • Trays
  • Multipacks
  • Bags

End-of-Line Robotic Palletizing System

HYWAY can integrate the robot with other equipment to create a complete automated end-of-line solution.

The actual system configuration depends on the production line, product, pallet and required automation level.

Pallet Patterns

Different products require different palletizing arrangements.
The robot can be programmed for application-specific patterns such as:

  • Layer-based stacking
  • Interlocking patterns
  • Column stacking
  • Mixed-layer arrangements
  • SKU-specific patterns

The final pallet pattern should be selected according to product stability, pallet dimensions, product strength and transportation requirements.

Robotic End-of-Arm Tooling

The end-of-arm tooling is one of the most important parts of a robotic palletizing system.
HYWAY can select or engineer tooling according to the product being handled.
Possible arrangements include:

  • Vacuum Gripper – For suitable cartons, cases and products with appropriate surfaces.

  • Mechanical Gripper – For products where mechanical gripping provides better handling.

  • Fork-Type Tool – For specific product and packaging configurations.

  • Multi-Product Tooling – For applications requiring handling of different products or packages.

Final tooling selection depends on product dimensions, weight, packaging material, surface characteristics and required cycle time.
