Get in TouchRobotic Depalletizer for Automated Pallet Unloading
HYWAY Depalletizing Systems are designed to automate the unloading of cartons, cases, bags and other packaged products from pallets and transfer them into downstream production, packaging, warehousing or distribution systems.
The system uses robotic handling, application-specific gripping technology and conveyor integration to remove products from pallets in a controlled sequence.
HYWAY can configure depalletizing systems according to product dimensions, product weight, pallet size, stacking pattern, required throughput and downstream process requirements.
Think Vertical. Move Smart.

How Does a Robotic Depalletizer Work?
A loaded pallet is positioned at the depalletizing station manually or through an automated pallet conveyor.
The robot identifies the required product position and picks the product using a suitable gripper.
The product is then placed onto an outfeed conveyor or transferred to the required downstream location.
The process continues layer by layer until the pallet is empty.
Typical Process
The unloading sequence and robot movements are programmed according to the pallet pattern and downstream production requirements
Depalletizer Applications
Food & Beverage
Typical products include:
- Cartons
- Cases
- Bottles and containers in suitable secondary packaging
- Trays
- Multipacks
- Bags
FMCG
Depalletizing of finished goods and secondary packaging before processing, inspection, order fulfillment or distribution.
Dairy & Ice Cream
Suitable for compatible cartons, cases and packaged products used in dairy and frozen-food operations.
Beverage
Depalletizing systems can be designed for suitable cases, trays and secondary packaging.
Warehousing & Distribution
Automated unloading of palletized products before sorting, picking, storage or order fulfillment.
Manufacturing
Suitable for transferring palletized components, cases and finished products into downstream production or handling systems.
Depalletizer Configurations
Robotic Depalletizer
An industrial robot picks individual products or groups of products from the pallet and transfers them to a conveyor. Suitable for applications requiring flexibility in product handling and pallet patterns.
Layer Depalletizer
For suitable high-throughput applications, products can be removed layer-by-layer using dedicated handling arrangements. This configuration is particularly relevant where the product and pallet pattern allow efficient layer handling.
Single-SKU Depalletizer
Designed for applications where a consistent product and pallet configuration is handled.
Multi-SKU Depalletizer
Configured for applications involving different product dimensions, pallet patterns or product types, subject to robot reach, payload and tooling requirements.
Robotic Depalletizer with Automatic Pallet Handling
For a higher level of automation, HYWAY can integrate the depalletizer with pallet handling equipment.
This can be integrated with existing production or warehouse conveyor systems.
End-of-Line / Production-Line Integration
A depalletizer can be used as part of a larger automated material-flow system.
Example
Pallet Storage
- Pallet Conveyor
- Depalletizer
- Product Conveyor
- Accumulation
- Packaging / Production Line
- Robot Palletizer
- Finished Pallet
This creates a continuous material flow between palletized storage and production.
Robotic End-of-Arm Tooling
The gripper is selected according to the product being handled.
-
Vacuum Gripper – Suitable for compatible cartons, cases and products with appropriate surfaces.
-
Mechanical Gripper – Used where mechanical gripping is more appropriate for the product or packaging.
-
Layer Gripper – Designed to pick multiple products together where the pallet configuration and product characteristics permit layer handling.
-
Customized Tooling – Specialized tooling can be developed or selected for specific product shapes, dimensions and weights.
Final gripper selection depends on product dimensions, weight, packaging material, surface characteristics, pallet pattern and required cycle time.
